I am an avid walker and painter, living just outside the beautiful city of York.
Working primarily in oils and soft pastels, my paintings are of places that resonate strongly with me from the many walks that I do around Yorkshire, particular favourites being the North Yorkshire Moors, the Howardian Hills and the Yorkshire Dales.
I love being outside in nature, in all weathers, seeing how it changes season by season.
I'm attracted by interesting compositions, the balance of light and shadow, the colours or sometimes just the feeling that a place gives me. And for me, my paintings evoke the memory of being there completely.
